IPL Schoeller considers protecting the privacy of our customers, visitors of our facilities and website visitors to be of vital importance. That is why we believe it is important to make sure that our service is personal, committed and transparent. We are therefore constantly looking for ways to improve our services and to tailor them as much as possible to your requirements. This includes careful handling of personal data.
This means that we process and secure personal data very carefully. In doing so, we are complying with the applicable legislation and regulations regarding personal data protection.
Recording and processing personal data
We collect the following personal data that you directly or indirectly provided to us, e.g. for purchasing products or services, creating and using an account, visiting our websites, visiting our facilities, registering for one or more newsletters or in the context of applying for a vacancy.
Name and contact details: we use your name, job title and contact details, such as an address, telephone number and email address to communicate with you about the performance of agreed services, the delivery of products and for sales or marketing purposes.
Interests of users: personal data about your preferences for certain products and services. We use these personal data to better align with your interests the services we offer and any information sent to you about our products or services or those of third parties, whereby the foregoing is in accordance with the applicable legislation and regulations in that context.
Payment details: we use your payment details, such as bank account number and credit card details to process payments (to the extent applicable within the framework of the agreement concluded with you).
Job application details: we will use any job application details provided, e.g. that appear on your CV, for the application process. We only allow the information on your CV to be consulted by third parties with your consent. You can, at any time, wholly or partly restrict the ability to consult your CV. Think carefully about what data you include in your CV if it can be consulted by third parties.
Website visitor data: our website tracks visitor information, such as the most frequently visited pages. The purpose of this is to optimise the website’s layout. Such data are also used for research and analysis purposes, with the aim of improving customer experience on our websites. This data can also be used to post information that is relevant to you on the pages you visit, for example, special posts related to your interest or special offers from advertisers. In this way, the service we offer you can be further optimised.
Facilities visitor data: when visiting our facilities we will request an ID number and type, name, passport or drivers photograph, company representing the person, license plate( if applicable).
Usually, we store your personal data for a period of 7 years or such a period as legally required for administration purposes. If we consider it necessary in view of special circumstances, we may retain your personal data for a longer period of time, for instance, in the context of legal proceedings or if we have a legal obligation to do so.

Sharing personal data
We may share your personal data with the following recipients:
Group companies of IPL Schoeller: Companies that are in the same group as IPL Schoeller, such as parent companies, sister companies or subsidiaries, if this is necessary in order to optimise our services.
Service providers: we share your personal data with the service providers we use so that they are able to carry out their work for us accurately and efficiently.
Public authorities: At the request of public authorities, we will provide personal data in accordance with the law.
Registration personal data and personal data security
When visiting our facilities, personal data is entered by yourself or the security/reception employee via the registration service directly in the access system. The recipients of the collected data are authorized employees only.
According to Article 5(1) (e) GDPR, data will be stored only for the purposes for which the personal data are processed unless the exception mentioned under this article applies.
The personal data included in the registration system is stored for a period of 24 months after the right of access has expired, unless the person is on a blacklist. In that case, personal data will remain in the system until the period for which the access is denied has expired. The access records included in the access registration system are kept for a maximum of 24 months, after that the registrations are destroyed.
We use security procedures to prevent unauthorised access or to prevent the loss of personal data, etc.
Cookies
We use cookies when offering our services. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer's hard drive when you visit the website. A cookie contains data so that you, as a visitor, are recognised whenever you visit the website. It is then possible to configure the website specifically for you and/or to make logging in much easier.
You can always disable cookies in your browser, without this having far-reaching consequences for using the website. However, as a consequence certain parts may be less or no longer accessible for you.
One of the reasons we use cookies is for web analysis services (such as Google Analytics and Leadinfo). These cookies provide us with information to analyse visits made to our websites by providing information about visitor numbers, popular pages, topics and/or company data such as company name, address, IP address and country. In this way, we can fine-tune our communication and the information we provide to the needs of website visitors.
In addition, we use functional cookies such as session and login cookies to keep track of session and login information, as well as cookies that make it easier to order our products (such as storing the contents of your shopping cart).
Advertising cookies are also used, which are intended to show relevant ads, as well as social network cookies, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. The social network cookies are only applicable if you use those services and have enabled sharing links or tweets. We retain this information for a period of 3 years.
Use of Third Party Services
Salesforce
We use Salesforce as our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform to process, manage and store information submitted through our online forms. Salesforce processes this data on our behalf and in accordance with strict security and compliance standards, including GDPR requirements. The stored data may include your name, contact details, company information and any additional information you provide in the form. We use this information exclusively for the purpose of handling your inquiry, following up on your request, improving customer service and managing our business relationship with you.
Mailchimp
In some specific cases, form submissions may also be stored in Mailchimp. Mailchimp acts as our email communication management platform. While your data may be stored in Mailchimp, we do not actively send marketing newsletters unless you have explicitly opted in. Mailchimp stores personal data securely and in compliance with GDPR. Your data will only be used for communication purposes for which you have given consent.
Google API
We use Google Ireland Limited Google APIs, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Irland to access additional services and data from Google Ireland Limited. Your IP address will be transmitted to Google Ireland Limited. Please note that a single section of this Privacy Policy is for each additional service we use from Google Ireland Limited.
The use of Google APIs is based on our legitimate interests, i.e. interest in optimising our online offer in accordance with Art. 6 sec. 1 lit. f. GDPR.
Storage time
For our forms (contact, quote request, brochure download), the submitted data is stored in Salesforce and, in some cases, in Mailchimp (although we do not actively send Marketing newsletters at the moment).
The actual storage time of the processed data is not influenced by us, but is determined by the relevant Third Party Service provider.
Data Transfers and Security
The Third Party Services used by IPL Schoeller may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In such cases, they rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to ensure your data remains protected.
We do not sell or otherwise share the personal data stored in the with third parties for marketing purposes. Access to this data is strictly limited to authorised IPL Schoeller representatives and service providers who require it to perform their duties.
Links to other websites
Our websites may contain links to external websites and organisations. IPL Schoeller assumes no responsibility with regard to the use of your data by these organisations. Please read the privacy statement of the website you are visiting.
Changes
IPL Schoeller reserves the right to make changes to its privacy statement. We, therefore, recommend that you regularly check the privacy statement for any updates to the privacy statement.
